American Racing Equipment Company is the parent company for American racing wheels and American racing rims, and they distribute manufacture and market wheels and rims for the racing industry. Offering a wide variety of wheels and rims, they cover all kinds of vehicles including muscle cars, SUVs, and trucks.

They also provide all kinds of accessories for all types of vehicles including metal signs, posters stickers, banners, replacement caps, headgear, car care products T-shirts and jackets for both men and women. All these can be found online.

American Racing Equipment got its start in the 1950s when Romeo Palimedes, a paceleader in the early times of drag racing got together and collaborated with J.O. Ellison, a machine shop owner to create his drag racing wheels for his car. Using a revolutionary magnesium racing wheel with a high ratio of strength to weight, his wheels were like no other at the time. They soon met up with Tom Griffith, a far-thinking engineer ahead of his time, and the rest became part of history.

American Racing Equipment met the needs of the street and hot rod racing sport offering lighter weight, high-tech performance wheels that took the sport to the next level. Over fifty years have passed and with it has come American Racing Wheels and American Racing Rims keeping the tradition alive with high-performance wheels and rims for the amateur, street and professional racer. As well, they also supply customized wheels for passenger vehicles, SUVs, vintage cars and trucks.

They also have wheels for passenger vehicles, trucks, off-road vehicles, SUVs and vintage cars.

American Racing Wheels are also known for the rising popularity in the custom wheel craze that swept the nation in the 1960s supplying their innovative designs including the Americans, Torq Thrusts and 5 spokes.

American Racing Wheels Torq Thrust, now considered classic with its tapered parabolic spoke is light weight with an advanced brake cooling system.

This became the model for high performance wheels with custom rim and wheel enthusiasts. Because it was one of the most famous wheels ever made, it was featured in Hot Rod Magazine in 2005 as one of the vehicle parts that was revolutionary in design and manufacture in the car industry. American Racing Wheels and American Racing Rims were reintroduced into the market in 2002 when, in combination with DuPont, they released a new Teflon coated wheel that came from two years of exclusive partnering with the DuPont company. These new wheels were designed to resist brake dust, tested favorably in NASCAR conditions and were extremely easy to clean. Considered the next step in racing wheels, these have become the hallmark stamp of wheel technology.

1700+ employees currently work in the manufacturing and distribution section of American Racing Equipment company. They carry on the vision of their founder, Romeo Palimedes who felt that attention to detail and excellence in craftsmanship would make precision alloy wheels that dominated the industry. With state-of-the-art facilities, they have produced over 3 million dollars in wheels as of 2001.
