Are Retro SUVs Making A Come Back?

If you are in the market for a used sport utility vehicle the Ford Bronco II, Chevrolet Blazer, and Jeep Cherokee are all good picks. Let\'s be honest if you\'re buying a five or six year old sport utility vehicle your going to have to put money into it. These three are no exception they have all been canceled in the last five years.

The Ford Bronco II has earned less then stellar reviews over the years. First unveiled in 1983 it had reasonably good sales numbers until the return of maintenance reviews from new owners. The vehicle was billed as a go anywhere with your family any time vehicle, but you could not get anywhere without breaking down on the way. In 1988 it was redesigned and billed out as a soccer mom sport utility vehicle it was discontinued in 1999 because of the Ford Explorer. Today you can pick up a used 1999 Ford explorer 4WD for a fraction of the original fifteen thousand dollar sticker price, it sells for fifteen hundred dollars in today\'s market.

The Chevrolet S10 Blazer was originally offered in the sixties built on there full size truck frame, today it is built on the S10 frame and is Chevy\'s mid size sport utility vehicle. It is exactly what a fore wheeled drive SUV should be able to go anywhere in fore wheel drive that could be demanded of your average everyday man or woman. It has the classic Chevrolet power offering that you will be glad you paid for when the time comes that you need it. Discontinued in 2005 and retailing then at twenty one thousand dollars it now wells for ten thousand dollars. This makes it a real steal for any one looking for a used Sport utility vehicle.

The Jeep Cherokee was first introduced in 1984 and discontinued in 2001 . Since then it has built up a loyal following around the world amongst people looking to convert into an extreme 4x4 to government agencies. It was only redesigned once in 1997 but did not stray far from the original look. In 1999 Jeep made a very minimal effort to offer exterior modifications when it offered wheel flares, colored bumpers, and a new grill as options you could buy from the factory. You can pick up a used 2001 for as cheap as eight thousand dollars in today\'s market.

Make sure to bring along a mechanic before you purchase one of these used SUV\'S.
