Audi R8 Pricing Announced

One of the most sought after brands of performance cars has once again produced a vehicle that is set to attract the attention of American car buyers. The Audi of America, the North American subsidiary of the German auto maker, has introduced the new Audi R8 and to date, it is the most advanced sports car from the company. The Audi R8 is the first truly mid-engine car from Audi and is set to hit showrooms in the United States this fall.

Recently, Audi of America announced the price of the sports car when it becomes available to all Audi consumers. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the high performance vehicle will start at $109,000. That price is for the base model of the R8 while for the R8 equipped with the six-speed R-tronic automatic transmission, the MSRP starts at $118,000. The base model is equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The R8 is the newest and most advanced sports car from the German car maker and it comes equipped with a V8 engine. The 4.2-liter FSI engine has the capacity to produce as much as 420 horsepower. The car is also equipped with Audi’s four-wheel drive technology - Quattro. The power from the Audi R8’s engine can propel it to 60 miles per hour from a standstill in about 4.4 seconds.

The 420 units of horses give the car an amazing top speed of 187 miles per hour and this is truly the kind of performance any sports car lover would surely appreciate. Its high performance engine parts and its lightweight construction give the Audi R8 the performance never before seen in an Audi. True to its mid-engine configuration, the Audi R8 exhibits a good balance which translates to a responsive handling and a total ride comfort.

Customers can also opt for the available Convenience Package which consists of the Audi parking system featuring a rearview camera as well as the Audi hill hold assist which puts on the brake while stopped on a hill and releasing it only when the driver operates the vehicle forward. For the consumers who want more luxury features, the Audi R8 can also come with an Enhanced Leather Package. The package consists of a leather wrapped dashboard and interior trim pieces among others.
