The Indian car industry is loaded with innovative technologies and has always has some thing unique to offer to its customers. The Indian car market is filled with car of different varieties and from every segment. The technologies provide easy to use facilities and features that perfectly match the customer’s requirement. Automatic cars are very widespread abroad but in India it just started receiving its fame. With the growing demand for such cars, most car manufacturers are introducing new variants or new models that offer automatic transmission. Car with automatic transmission is in good demand and the sales are going high too. The primary customers for such cars are women a it is much easier to drive and comfortable compared to the manual transmission that requires a little effort. With the rising demand of automatic cars many car manufacturers are bringing out the automatic versions of their models.
The Korean car manufacturer Hyundai launched the automatic version of Santro in t 2008 as a mark of celebrating women’s day. This was a limited offer by the car manufacturer. There are also other models that come with the automatic transmission such as Hyundai's i20, Chevrolet Captiva (AT version), Fiat's Linea, Honda City, Mitsubishi Outlander, Mahindra Scorpio, Mitsubishi Outlander and the lists just goes on and on. Now in order to offer better fuel efficiency and enhanced performance and pick, the car manufacturers are offering five to six speed automatic transmission systems. Hyundai i10 one of the best-selling cars also offers a variant with automatic transmission. the variant has gained great success and sells more than 1,600 automatic transmission variants per month which is above the car manufacturers expectations. The car brand received an overpowering response from woman drivers and the growing jamming in city is pushing up demand. It is not just the small car but Hyundai Verna from the sedan segment too flaunts with its automatic transmission. The car manufacturer is also thinking of bringing a variant exclusively for the physically challenged. The Indian car leader, Mahindra & Mahindra also introduced the automatic version of Scorpio in 2008. Powered by a powerful 2.2 litre mHawk engine, the Scorpio AT is equipped with 6-speed automatic gearbox. M&M’s flagship model Scorpio gets the credit of being the first Indian car brand and also the first SUV to be equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The trend of automatic cars is mounting swiftly and most car manufacturer is trying to join the race. The Japanese car manufacturer Honda too offers automatic transmission for its variants of Civic, Accord, City, CR-V. As aforesaid it is one of the best features that a women driver looks for beside high-end features. Chevrolet Captiva is another one from the lot which has automatic transmission is Already successful on the Indian roads, this Captiva has forayed the SUV segment with its new and striking feature of Automatic transmission.
