Fiat Linea - From Turkey to India

Fiat Linea was first introduced in Turkey in 2007. Since then the car has rejoiced its success in various countries around the world. After receiving great response from global car buyers, Fiat finally decided to bring this car to India.

The new Fiat that has made its debut in the Indian car market has entered the market with certain modifications to meet the taste and desire of Indian populace. It's well defined as style on wheels by Fiat. This new car reflects a blend of style, luxury, and performance. With high degree of dynamism, Linea is sure to rewrite the laws of sedans in the country, competing with the most successful midsized sedans like Ford Fiesta, Maruti Suzuki SX4, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City in India.

Exterior

The car exterior is crafted with detail, style and elegance. The contemporary Italian styling adds to the flowing profile and flawless lines that makes the car unique and distinctive. In addition, the exterior adornments like aggressive front grille, large tail lamps, dual parabola headlamp, curvaceous rear, and 15 inch alloy wheels adds to the charm of the car.

From bonnet to the raked windscreen, the new Linea has a dynamic form.

Interior

A slight glance in the interior delivers freshness of airy interiors that is accentuated with dual tone in beige and black. In the car, features like leather finish steering wheel, glove boxes, powered mirrors, instrument panels, 12V power socket, driver-facing ignition socket, and steering wheel with audio controls add more elegance.

The innovative car technologies like Blue&Me and 'My Car' are significant additions to the car interiors. Blue&Me is technology introduced by Fiat that helps in mobile communication, communicate, reads mobile sms, and even change music tracks completely based on voice commands. In addition, the 'My Car' is technology helps to customize with a host of customizable features like clock setting, radio display, digital odometer, service schedule reminder, setting units for distance, range, buzzer setting for speed limit, and temperature, and digital mileage indicator.

Engine

The Fiat Linea is available in six variants, Active (petrol), Emotion (petrol), Dynamic (petrol), Active (diesel), Emotion (diesel), and Dynamic (diesel).

The diesel variants are propelled by 1.3L advanced multijet diesel linked with Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) that delivers 85 bhp and the petrol variants are propelled by a 1.4L FIRE engine that generates 89 bhp. The estimated fuel efficiency of the car is15 km/l in city and about 19 km/l on highways.

Performance

Efficient suspension system and hydraulic power steering improves comfort and driving experience. The front suspension is equipped with independent wheel suspension and the rear with torsion beam. Both the front and rear suspension systems are further associated with helical coil spring, double acting telescopic dampers and stabilizer bar to improve ride quality on challenging Indian roads filled with potholes and bumps.

The car accelerate from 0 to100 km/h in just 15.6 seconds and come to a standstill from 80 km/h in just 2.38 seconds .

Safety

Fiat Linea is also adorned with innovative and advanced safety features. Some of the most essential safety technologies in the Linea are dual front airbags, fire prevention system, digital door open indicator, double crank prevention system, anti-theft engine immobilizer, 3 safety headrests, speed limit indicator, and anti-lock brakes are some of the safety features in the Linea.
