Mahindra Xylo Enters Indian Car Market

Mahindra & Mahindra finally launches the Xylo in the Indian car market. This new car is tough and rugged like all Mahindra cars but the special characteristics that differentiates it from other Mahindra cars is the elegance of a sedan.

Mahindra calls its new Xylo the ‘Great Indian Travelling Machine’ because the company feels that the car will redefine the future of road travel in the country.

Appealing Exterior

The new Mahindra Xylo is designed with a sporty and masculine structure. This is further accentuated with a variety of striking exterior adornments including aggressive front grill, integrated bumpers, body-coloured door handles, wrap around tail-lights, aerodynamically designed ski rack, sporty alloy wheels, and twin-coloured outside rear view mirror. In addition, the body side cladding adorned with chrome rails and rear lamp clusters adds more beauty to the car.

The new Xylo is available in eight vibrant car colour choices including the Fiery Black, Mint Green, Mist Silver, Toreador Red, Lucky Lilac, Java Brown, Gold Shimmer, and Rocky Beige.

Inspiring Interiors

The designer has taken the elegance of the exterior to the interior as well. The car in the interior is available in an option of three different shades including Black, Walnut, and Granite.

The interior of the car is beautified with variety of car interiors including theatre style seating, conveniently placed laptop and mobile charging points, doors fitted with puddle lamps, flatbed front seats, foldable flight trays, integrated foot rest, three-position lumbar support, digital drive assist system, and 2 Din entertainment system.

New Engine

The car is propelled by a new and advanced 2.49 Litre mEagle CRDe engine that generates 112 bhp. This new engine allows takes the car from 0 km/h to 60 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. This fuel-efficient engine is coupled with five-speed manual transmission, dual pilot injection, hydraulic lash adjustor technology, and auto tensioner, to provide enhanced fuel efficiency, improved ride quality, and better handling.

Advanced Car Technologies

The new Xylo is technically designed with excellence, and precision from both inside and outside. The car is technologically adorned with an assortment of new car technologies like the Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS ).

The DDAS includes an on-board computer to read and provide vital information like the average mileage, remaining amount of fuel in the tank, and the distance allowed with the fuel left over. It also has an inbuilt warning system that warns the driver to take safety precautions like wearing a seat belt and locking the car door.

Enhanced Safety

Mahindra has not compromised on safety. The company has loaded with new Xylo with a pack of car safety features. Some of the striking and most effective features includes a transponder based Engine Immobilizer, ultrasonic sensors, fog lamps, in-built warning system, tubeless tyres, and crumple zone helps improve safety.

Engine immobilizer is to immobilize the engine in case of an unlawful entry and ultrasonic sensors positioned in the rear bumpers helps ease the task of reverse parking by alerting the driver about the presence of any vehicle or object in the range of 120 cm.

Impressive Variants

This new car is available in four impressive variants that includes E2, E4, E6, and E8. These variants are priced at Rs 6,24,500, Rs 6,69,500, Rs 7,32,500, and Rs 7,69, 500 respectively. All these variants are compliant to stringent BS III emission norms.

The base version E2 is equipped with standard features like the power steering, power windows, central locking, flat bed front seats, and transponder based immobilizer. The top-end versions of the car are adorned with additional features like surround cool dual air-conditioner, fabric seats, intelligent reverse assist, alloy wheels, remote locking, reverse fog lamps, foldable flight trays, and ski rack which are available as optional features depending on the variants.
