Pontiac Parts, Redefining Cars On The Go

Submitted by AnthonyF

Pontiac is among the brands of American automaker General Motors (GM) that is geared toward performance. From Pontiac’s slogan of “Design for Action”, the vehicles of the GM marque are mainly cars that don sportier features and Pontiac parts. These models are available in the North and South American countries like the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Since its debut in the automobile industry in 1926, Pontiac has produced numerous Pontiac parts that define the niche the GM brand is in. As a marque for sportier cars, among the notable finds of the Pontiac is its V-8 engine in the 1950s. This kind of powertrain system made the vehicles of the company like the Pontiac Star Chief capable of mustering up to 173-horsepower. This kind of engine during those years received decent reviews both from motorists and the media. With the success of the V-8 power plants, the six-cylinder engines were no longer in production.

Aside from the internal Pontiac parts, the exterior of the cars back then donned the signature silver streaks on the hood and roof. Change, however, is something inevitable even for Pontiac as this trademark was removed when Semon Knudsen became the general manager of Pontiac. Joining such changes were the revamped car frame, body, and interiors of the Pontiac cars in the late 1950s. The brand continued to boldly go about with changes in its models and among the modifications done were the V-shaped fins and lower hood. With the innovative changes in the Pontiac cars, the brand’s vehicles were chosen by Motor Trend Magazine as the 1959 Car of the Year. The following year, the company pushed for further improvements in some Pontiac parts like the body kit parts. The changes in the exterior feature of a Pontiac car further improved the aerodynamics quality of the vehicle.

Since Pontiac adheres to producing vehicles that are always on the go, these changes were very crucial for the brand. Like any automaker, Pontiac did not stop in its pursuit to create cars that are efficient for more action. Without a doubt, the Pontiac parts upgrade made the models of this GM-produced marque have efficient performance.
