Clutches require professional handling

Riding a bike can mean several different things. It could be a bicycle, a moped or a motorcycle. It can also mean riding a motocross bike and this can be some of the most exciting bike riding around. The motocross clutches are some of the hardest working clutches around, too.

Motocross bike are tough and fast bikes specially designed for high performance and fast speeds. They are flashy and fun and their riders put them through some serious maneuvers. Speeding through race courses and spinning around turns. Going down inclines and flying over hills. All that action can really pound on motocross clutches, and without the clutch there can be no action at all!

Regular riders can expect to do daily maintenance on their bikes. They have to keep them lubricated and all the parts running smoothly. They'll want clean and fresh transmission fluid in the bike at regular intervals. The tires are going to take a lot as they are the part impacting the surfaces, so these will need to be changed often. And racers can expect to replace their motocross clutches about every five to six races. It may sound extreme, but without the clutch the racer can't hope to compete, let alone win.

Motocross clutches are the reason why riders and racers are able to do what they do on the course. When a clutch starts slipping it is the alarm to the rider that something has to be done. Ignore the clutch, and soon your bike will stop, unable to move. Riders can keep on top of their clutch condition by frequently checking the tension in the cable. Basically, if there is tension there is probably clutch slippage. You can nurse it along for short amount of time by making adjustments, but not for long. You may only have two weeks at the most before you need to replace it.

Because motocross clutches are so vital to competitive riders and racers, they often entrust a professional mechanic to care for their bikes. These pros have been working on motocross bikes for a while, maybe for decades, and they've picked up a lot of knowledge and expertise in that time. They will know exactly what is wrong and how to correct it. Often they can just tell by the sound of a motocross bike what is wrong. For very successful racers competing in the top tier events, at least one mechanic will be part of the racing team.

When owners decide to replace or upgrade their motocross clutches there are many options on the market for them to choose from. They should consult with their mechanic to find the perfect clutch kit for their bike and their riding style. Riders who go over rough terrain in their competitions will have different clutch needs than racers who ride on smother courses. It is also important that the best quality clutch kit is used, one that is strong, stable, durable and reliable. Finally professional installation is always the best choice to attain optimal clutch performance
