Motor biking or motocross is a growing sport here in the United States. It is a fun, fast paced and rewarding sport where one person rides along a track, possibly performing stunts or tricks in the process, trying to get first place in the race. Sometimes, if the proper steps are not followed, it can be a very dangerous sport. Knowledge and protective equipment can help keep this sport fun and not harmful to one's body. Knowledge is a big factor when avoiding accidents on the motocross track. If you don't know much about your bike or the track, there's no need to be out there. There are some steps you can take to keep yourself safe on the track.

First you need to take a safety course on your bike and have bike insurance. There are many courses across the country that aim to keep you safe while racing. Also, don't get a bike you can't handle. One of the biggest things to do before a race is to walk the track. Walk the track and get a feel for how big the jumps are, where the turns are, and where some potentially dangerous parts are. This will help you in the long run. Another thing you need to do to keep yourself safe is to wear the proper equipment and make sure it fits correctly. The equipment you will need is a helmet, chest protector, leg protector, athletic supporter, boots, gloves, and proper eyewear. All of this equipment should fit snug to your body.
This will help prevent you from, if you were to have an accident, breaking bones or causing any internal damage. The helmet should not be so tight to where you feel a lot of pressure causing headaches or other problems. The gloves and boots should feel tight because these are items you don't want to shift during the race. Also, you should wear a protective suit that repels fire and will not catch very easily. This will be useful if there were to be an accident and you are unable to get out from under your bike. If you take these steps to a safe ride, you will ensure that you will be in many races to come in the future. Find the correct protective equipment and make yourself knowledgeable of what all is required by a motocross racer. Follow these steps, walk the track, and have a great time on the track!
