I have been trying to find simple ways to improve my gas mileage for some time now, what with the state of the economy and the uncertainty of the oil and gasoline prices at the moment it has become a bit of an obsession. Like most people these days I do a lot of driving, and the cost of gasoline is one of the biggest drains on the cash in my pocket. With this in mind I surfed the internet for hours trying to find some simple ways to improve my gas mileage and get more MPG.

One of the most common tips I found that will give gas mileage improvements is a simple change in the way we drive. Fast driving and good gas mileage do not go together so just easing your foot off of the accelerator a little and so keeping your speed down by a few miles per hour can give you significant gas mileage improvements. Also smooth acceleration and braking can make quite a difference to your fuel consumption.

An engine that is in good condition will get more MPG than one that is not running properly, so having your car regularly serviced and maintained is one of the simplest ways to improve gas mileage on any vehicle not matter what size engine it has. Also making sure that your tires are inflated correctly can make a huge difference, a tire that is under-inflated or even slightly flat is literally a drag and could be costing you a lot of money in wasted energy.

There are other ways to improve gas mileage besides changing our driving habits. There are many gas mileage devices available that claim to give gas mileage improvements of anything between10. One of the better of these devices that I came across was the Hydrogen Generator For Vehicles. This small device fits under the hood of your car next to the engine and can improve gas mileage by 35% or more depending on the model of vehicle.

They can either be purchased in kit form or you can buy plans to make your own from simple parts that are available at any hardware store. (To find out more about a Hydrogen Generator for vehicles click on the link at the end of this article as I have done a review of the top providers of guides).

One of the more extreme ways to improve gas mileage that I found on the internet is a thing called “Hypermiling.” This is a way of driving that uses any trick possible to save on the tiniest amount of gas. These include things like (drafting), following closely behind the vehicle in front to cut down on your wind resistance, and (coasting) which involves accelerating to the legal speed limit (and sometimes beyond) and then free-wheeling as far as possible without touching the gas pedal again until really necessary.

So you see there are some simple ways to improve gas mileage and get more MPG from our vehicles. Whether you change your style of driving, or use one of the gas mileage devices like the Hydrogen Generator for vehicles or even a combination of both. Anything that can give us gas mileage improvements and save us some cash has got to be worth trying.
