The Top Three Selling MinivansSubmitted by wtsheff Fri, 19 Jun 2009
Are you in the market for a vehicle that can fit the whole family, but better on gas than an SUV? A minivan might be the right option for you. Three good options to consider are the Honda Odyssey, Dodge Caravan and the Volkswagen Eurovan.
The Honda Odyssey, being the smallest and sportier minivan of the three, is spacious and has seating for seven people. The back seat tucks down to offer extra storage space for those family trips or grocery runs. The newest models of the Odyssey come with several features for added comfort and convenience such as, cruise control, CD player, power sliding doors, and in floor storage. If you\'re looking for something a bit more luxurious the EX-L version offers heated leather seats, a power tailgate and a sunroof. Because of it\'s smaller size the Odyssey is comfortable to drive and great on turns. The Odyssey is also very reliable and safe. You won\'t have to worry about your family\'s safety with this car. A more affordable minivan is the Dodge Caravan, which also seats seven. The Dodge Caravan comes with convenient second and third row "stow and go" seating which leaves plenty of space for storage. The larger version, the Grand Caravan is longer and offers 15.1 cubic feet of storage, giving a comfortable amount of storage space or a little extra leg room for passengers. You can choose between a 4 cylinder 2.4-liter engine which generates 150 horsepower or a 3.3-liter engine which generates 180 horsepower. The Dodge Caravan also has good gas mileage for a minivan, at 10 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The larger competitor is the Volkswagen Eurovan. The Eurovan is more powerful and sits up higher for better visibility but it handles a bit harder than the other two. It also features fold down seating for added storage space. The Eurovan is more powerful with a 2.8-liter engine that produces 201 horsepower. The Eurovan is often preferred for it\'s style. The Eurovan is more box-shaped than the traditional minivan making it stand apart on the road rather than blending in. It is said that the Eurovan is harder on turns but if you are looking for something a little different with added storage space, the Eurovan may be the car for you. Which ever minivan you choose, you can be sure that your family will be more comfortable in a minivan, whether you are running errands, going to a soccer game or taking a weekend camping trip.
