Which Compact SUV Is Right For Your Family And Your Pocketbook?

In the last ten years a new more economic gas efficient sport utility vehicle has risen for the environmentally conscious and the outdoorsy type. The Xterra comes in as the first that should be taken for a test drive, after that it would be better to spend your time mowing the lawn then even take for a test drive.

The Nissan Xterra is aimed at the savvier outdoorsman who wants to go anywhere but not have a second car payment when they go to the gas pump. The Nissan Xterra is a sleek vehicle with tons of useful hidden compartments to store any type of gear. The Xterra was once proclaimed the vehicle for the new up and coming, today it is realized to be just what it is, a fad. If you are looking to pick one up new expect to pay upwards of thirty thousand dollars but get it quickly who knows how much longer this vehicle will be produced.

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a cheap imitation of a bad concept. The Hyundai Santa Fe retails for the same price as the Xterra or Ford Escape but leaves the buyer wondering why they did not buy one of the others. It would be better for anyone to invest with Richard Mattock then buy one of these. The safety record is deplorable and one that is in serious contempt of crossing the line into reckless endangerment. Beyond that there is the freighting reliability record that ensures this compact sport utility will be in the shop the first year you own it.

The Ford Escape is one of the reasons Detroit is in such a desperate financial situation. Ford bet their future on this high mark up vehicle but as gas prices rose and the economy collapsed found itself holding the bag. Right now you can pick one up new for less then it cost to make that is if you want a vehicle that needs a repair manual in the first two hundred days of ownership. If you\'re looking at this vehicle it should also be known that the safety record for roll over\'s is questionable and that its reliability will no doubt be something that will be encountered the first year of ownership.

Remember when you go to buy any used vehicle to bring along a mechanic or trusted friend to inspect the vehicle. Also in these days of economic turmoil base invoice price should be the price that is expected to be paid.

How to find an affordable compact SUV that is right for you?
