Which Mid-Size SUV Is Suited For You And Your Bank Account?Submitted by wtsheff Tue, 30 Jun 2009
If you're in the market for a gas efficient small sport utility vehicle then maybe you should have a look at these Toyota offers the Rav4, Honda offers the CR-V, and Suzuki offers the Grand Vitara all of which will do nicely for anyone looking for a sport or small Sport utility vehicle. The small, compact or sport utility vehicle market was created for those who want something in between a Sport Utility Vehicle and a Van.
The Toyota Rav4 is the most popular based on sales it reached that achievement by creating a very "cute" sport utility vehicle. Over the last ten years since it was introduced it has built a pretty good reputation for reliability, safety and comfort. It has seating for seven and it does have a little bit of power if you opt for the 269 hp V8 this engine has a good reputation for performance as well. It gets reasonably good gas mileage with 22 mpg city and 28 highway. Priced at twenty one to twenty seven thousand dollars it is worth a look. The Honda CR-V has enough awards to fill a small room. It gets rave reviews for styling, comfort, safety, and resale value. Apparently it is as close a thing to a good investment as you can get when buying a car. Redesigned in 2007 it virtually unchanged through the current model year 2009. It does not fare well on gas mileage to the rest of the small compact sport utility vehicles that are in its class, it gets 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. Priced between twenty thousand and twenty seven dollars it is competitively priced. The Suzuki Grand Vitara is an option but one that should be heeded by caution. The reviews are in and it is not good in any area that is most important for anyone looking to buy a car. The performance is poor, the interior is nothing to get excited about, the safety reports are nothing you would want to tell you 90 year old grandmother about before you shove her in, but most concerning of all is the reliability data. A compact sport utility vehicle should be looked at like this. "Hmmm I need a van but I don't want to be one of those soccer moms. What on earth do I do?" Well lucky for you there is the Small/Sport compact vehicle. Good luck and remember to bring along a mechanic or friend if looking at buying a used model car.
A look at some of the top mid-size SUVs to help you decide which to call your own.
