Which Motorcycle Should You Be Cruising On?

Submitted by wtsheff

With 2009 being one of the hardest economic years in memory the automotive and motorcycle world is desperately trying to unload excess inventory. Giving any body not wiped out a once in a life time opportunity to pick up a great deal on a new bike. The used market is also over flowing with people trying to sell before the repo man shows up, but the best deals are at the auctions where the banks are unloading the already repossessed machines for next to nothing. A new Electra Glide sold at my local auction last week for six thousand dollars unfortunately I was not the lucky bidder, by the time I realized what was going on the gavel had already come down but it gives you an idea of what is possible rite now.

Honda has a beautiful Luxury Cruiser that was at the top until BMW released the K1200LT. Ever since then Gold wing has perhaps been trying to be something it is not. When you go to buy a Winnebago the first thing you ask is not how does it do in the quarter mile be yet instead we ask about the amenities and luxury items such as does it have a flat screen and how is the gas mileage. Honda created the luxury cruiser market and now is abandoning it with their new 1800.

Harley Davidson has a long history of producing desirable bikes. The Electra glide is no different well defined in its class as a beautiful road cruiser able to seat two comfortably on a six hundred mile day. The Electra Glide offers the classic V twin engine and plenty of customizations that can be ordered from the factory or added on as you go.

The Kawasaki Vulcan has been around for over twenty years and has been changed little since then. The Vulcan 750 boasts a new shaft drive, disc front brake, tachometer, fuel gauge, coolant-temperature gauge, a headlight-failure warning light, a dual-bulb taillight, dual horns, shocks that adjust for air pressure and a handlebar choke lever. Getting high marks for ease of maintenance, reliability, and comfort. It retails at a reasonable six thousand dollars making it a bike definitely worth checking into while shopping.

Make sure you have a motorcycle license and have been properly trained before setting out on one of these. Today motorcycles are a lot safer than they used to be, designed to be seen by other drivers and offering excellent breaking and steering. However this does not supersede the need for a helmet. Make sure you have a motorcycle license and have been properly trained before setting out on one of these as well.

An insider's look on which touring motorcycle to buy.
