5 Tips for Reducing Wedding Planning Stress

Submitted by bridalfavors
Sun, 30 Aug 2009

Every little girl dreams about getting to plan her wedding someday. Inviting her best friends to be bridesmaids, trying on beautiful wedding gowns, and registering for one cool bridal shower gifts after another. It all seemed so simple…so fun. Who knew it could turn into such a nightmare?

If planning your wedding is driving you crazy, Her Bridal Favors is here to help. One of these tips might just be the key to regaining your sanity before the big day. So put down the party favors you're making for the reception and take a few minutes to read the following.
.
1. Just Breathe
Breathing isn't something you usually have to think about, but it helps to give it a little more thought during times of stress. Planning a wedding is an enormous task, and it can take your breath away…literally. If you're running on overload, you're probably not getting the oxygen you need to function at your best. You'd be surprised how much it helps to sit down, close your eyes, and take several deep breaths. For even more relaxation, try some spa incense sets or bath sets. These sets are the perfect bridal gift for yourself and your party

2. Get Organized
If you don't already have a wedding organizer, get one. Set up a notebook with sections for flowers, formal attire, catering, wedding favor ideas, etc. Be sure to keep an organized "to do" list in the front, along with a calendar where you can write payment deadlines, shower dates, and appointments. A pocket for receipts is helpful, too. To make things even easier, buy a wedding organizer that is already set up for you.

3. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
It's easy to get bogged down with details when you're planning a major, once-in-a-lifetime event. In order to gain some perspective, try to see your wedding as your guests will. If the flowers don't have the exact ribbon you picked out, or if the bridesmaids don't all have the same shoes like you planned, your guests will never know. Every wedding has a few glitches, so prepare to be increasingly flexible as your big day approaches. It's important to pick your battles and don't let pesky, little challenges ruin your day.

4. Go Shopping Online
If you have centerpiece or wedding favors ideas that require you to buy the supplies and make them yourself, you may be feeling the stress of trying to do too much at once. Do-it-yourself bridal accessories are a low cost way to stay on budget, but they can also be more trouble than they're worth. You can find affordable, unique party favor, centerpiece, and bridal favors ideas at Her Bridal Favors. From beautiful bookmarks and mini photo albums to seasonal candles and shaped, scented soaps, we have what you're looking for...no assembly required. Our wedding favors and bridal shower favors selection is second to none.

5. Join an Online Community
No one will understand your bridal woes better than another bride. Thank goodness the internet has made it possible for you to connect with girls who are having the same issues you are. When you join a wedding chat room or message board, you can vent about the things that are really bothering you without offending anyone or risking criticism from those who don't understand what you're going through. Chances are, you'll get plenty of feedback from other brides who know exactly how you feel. And, as a bonus, you'll probably find great ideas for the perfect wedding favor, table centerpiece, or bridesmaid gifts. Online communities are the definitely best place to give and receive information, assistance, and ideas.

Just remember, your wedding will be a success no matter what because it's the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your life. How can you go wrong with a celebration of love and commitment? Just sit back, relax, and give yourself permission to enjoy planning your wedding.
