Clean Up Your Catalogs

Are your color catalogs ready for mass production? If you are unsure, you have to do a "cleaning up" of sorts to really be certain that things are ready for catalog printing. Do not worry, it is not really an arduous process. It just involves checking individual aspects of the design so that it is ideal for full catalog printing. Let me tell you how to do these checks using four simple tips.
• Deleting unnecessary design objects - Usually, designing catalogs means using everything in your power to get the best catalog designs. This includes adding small design objects like paragraph dividers, borders, swirls, watermarks and other design elements. However, once you try to review your designs, the usual case is that some of these unnecessary objects get deleted. This is just part of a proper catalog printing process. The design must be cleaned of any unnecessary clutter that will just make the catalog messy. So always check if you really need a few of the design objects in your color catalog. Sometimes it is best to keep things cleaner by keeping those extra design objects as minimal as possible.
• Removing unnecessary text details - You should also check out if your text content is truly compact and ideal. A lot of catalog printing text can just get too flowery and too full of itself that it makes the text look long and boring for people. Since catalogs are designed for a quick read only, it is important to remove any other unnecessary text details in your catalog printing. So make sure you stick to the truth. Only use short embellishments and don't add any more details that is needed for each product.
• Cleaning up your product images - The product images is also a concern since these will be the ones attracting people to buy your products. You should clean up and enhance your product images by running them through a digital photo enhancer like Adobe Photoshop. By making things sharper, clearer and much more vibrant in terms of color, your catalogs will have a better and more powerful impact on possible customers. So make sure you do an enhancement step to clean up your images properly.
• Printing samples for checking - Finally, do not forget to print some of your color catalogs for checking or evaluation. Printing sample physical copies of your color catalogs can be quite effective tools for cleaning up your design. Sometimes people detect more errors and get ideas for improvement when they have a sample catalog in their hands. So try to produce some draft samples of your catalog by just printing them up using your home printer. In this way, you'll probably have better ideas in improving your designs so that they look their best come catalog printing.
So that is how you clean up your catalogs. Form the images, to the text, to the design objects and printing samples, they all play a role in making your catalogs as good looking as they can for proper advertising. Good luck in the clean up!
