Five Unusual Things to Put on Printed Mugs

Submitted by Parkin

Are you considering using printed mugs for your advertising campaign, but aren’t sure just how they’d fit? Here are five suggestions for using printed mugs in different and unusual ways to help promote your project, business or campaign, each of them featuring something unusual to put on your printed mugs.

Put Your City on Mugs
Here’s a great promotional idea for a local radio station or city newspaper, or even the Chamber of Commerce or Businessmen’s Association. Commission a talented local artist to draw a skyline of your city specifically for use on a set of printed mugs that can be used as prizes or giveaways at promotional events. A city might even consider running a contest for the artwork to be chosen for the printed mugs. City skyline mugs could be used as fund raisers for services or projects that aren’t in the tax budget – opening the pools for a summer, perhaps, or renovating a city opera house.

Light up a local landmark.
Need to raise funds to restore a local landmark, build a park or renovate a public building? Do it with printed mugs. Just have a local artist or landscape artist do an artist’s rendition of the finished product and convert it to camera ready artwork to use on a photo mug. Research shows that non profit fund raising projects raise as much as 45% more when they use promotional products to help with their fund raising. Promotional mugs are one of the most effective fund raisers because they’re inexpensive, attractive and almost universally useful.

Show off a developing construction project.
Finding funding for new construction and development isn’t always easy, but it can be fun. Artist’s renditions and landscaping prints can be printed on printed mugs and given away at open houses and showings of the property even before construction has begun. Mugs are more useful than the more traditional pens and key chains, and put your business in front of people’s eyes far more often.

Introduce your club mascot.
Promotional mugs really are great fund raisers for all sorts of different groups because they’re almost universally useful. It’s all a matter of what you put on your mugs and which mugs you choose. A school sports team or club might select thermal travel mugs to sell as fund raisers for uniforms, travel expenses of general expenses. Travel mugs are especially appropriate for outdoor sports teams, since they can be carted along to the game days – and help show off team spirit with a cute line drawing of the team mascot along with the team name. Of course, you’ll want mugs in the school colours!

The boys in the band take great photos.
So why not put their mugs on printed mugs? Promote your band with printed mugs that have your favorite band pics on them. There are lots of different ways to go, from a one colour print of your band’s brand name to a full colour photo of your band on stage. You could even do up individual mugs for each band member and see which one the girls prefer to have keeping their coffee warm each day. No matter which you choose, printed mugs are a great way to pick up another income stream and publicize your band.
