Guide to Marketing Literature

The main element of an effective and successful marketing literature is in compelling images and writing. Most businesses will get their customers through dynamic campaigns and imaginative approaches. When it comes to marketing literature such as note cards, thank you cards, brochures, flyers, catalogs and others, the style and language are always planned carefully to create the interest in the product or service brand.

Ingenious Mailings
When doing a direct mailing campaign, be ingenious with your approach and materials. They have to be direct and more personalized. Formulate innovative, stimulating, loud and aggressive mailing series. For example, if you're using thank you cards, use different papers and a whole new tone. Be unconventional. Don't just copy the latest successful thank you cards campaign. Create your own that will set customer appreciation to higher standards.

Remember to appeal to their emotions. Be very friendly when you're sending out direct mailers. Even if you are trying to be different, always maintain an approachable and familiar tone with your words and visuals.

Targeted Literature
Group your target customers based on their industry, buying habits, lifestyle or other characteristics and create custom brochures, note cards, thank you cards, business cards and other printed materials. A generic material falls under mass marketing and this approach has been proven to ineffective nowadays. With customers being bombarded with different marketing materials, there's a huge need to always stand out. One way of doing this is customizing and personalizing marketing literature. It's important to address the target market appropriately. Since you're telling them that your brand answers a particular need, inform them that you do know them "intimately."

Samples
Convince your customers by mailing them free samples of your product. If you're selling note cards and thank you cards, send them colorful and greatly designed samples. This will give your customers the idea of how good your products are compared to others.

Add customer testimonials to your samples. They can be either a separate material and attached to your sample or they can be incorporated in the sample. Like with note cards, you can add a short testimonial at the front bottom of the card. This will further convince customers to prefer your brand since someone from their market group is highly satisfied.

Freebies
Instead of giving away mugs, tins and pens with the name of your company printed on them, design and print posters, calendars, creative note cards and thank you cards or stationery. These print materials are strong forms of advertising and marketing. These materials are effective since they can be used, displayed and shared. They're your walking advertisements. And they will definitely elevate your brand status.
