Ideal Collaterals for Any BusinessSubmitted by robertjohnston Tue, 21 Jul 2009
What's so good about hang tags is that these collaterals are very easy to print. Within an hour, you can already design your print hang tags and then send it to an online printer for overnight printing. With a relatively smaller space to design, you'll surely have a much easier time planning and creating the layout. When done right, hang tags can be your best tool to have in conveying your offer to your target audience.
Nevertheless, as simple as it is to design hang tags, many business owners and marketers often make mistakes and end up with results that are a far cry from what they expect. From lack of preparation to a mediocre plan, many hang tags printing has failed to become effective communicators of many marketing messages. Hence, a few tips and techniques can go a long way in helping you design collaterals that can be produced even if you take them to a print provider for overnight printing. First things first, you need to decide on what size would be most appropriate for your collaterals. This is not only applicable to hang tags, but to any print collaterals as well. The size determines the outcome that you would want to have. Most often than not, problems arise when the size of the marketing collaterals is different with that of the standard dimensions of the printer. It would be wise to know the specs with your provider before you actually create your design for your collaterals. This prevents adjustments and additional costs later on when it's time for you to send your template to your printer. Second, know your bleed. Usually, the bleed is half inch to an inch of the design. Your bleed ensures that you don't have any element accidentally taken out from your collaterals as well as prevents the appearance of a blank space in your design. Third, include all essential marks and additional lines to indicate cut-outs, folds and even perforations. This ensures that your printer doesn't forget to include your distinct design that would make your collateral more interesting to your target market. You need to indicate the proper places for these extra marks and cuts. Finally, decide on your printing options such as your paper stock and printing service. Knowing full well what you want can hasten the whole printing process. Even before you send your template to your printer, be sure that you have already decided on your choices. This would not only make it easier for your printer to provide you with the service you require, but it will also allow you to get the printing costs right away.
