Pocket Folders in Simple Terms

Are you having a very special meeting or symposium? You may need pocket folders to hold all the readings or documents together and hand it to your participants in a quick and easy manner. Pocket folders are fun to create because it is very simple to make. Before heading on for pocket folder printing, consider some of this helpful tips on making one:

1) Number of Folders for printing
How much folders do you need? Will you be using it for a longer period of time? Will you be reusing the folders or using it some other time for a different project? The number of folders will vary greatly on your need and use so double check on your need and budget and start counting!

2) Design
Are you picking the right colors? Would you want a folder that includes only your company name? or are you thinking of putting a lot of text and pictures on your folder? Take time to draw out your ideas and if you are having difficulty with drawing go look for a designer.

3) Board/paper folder type
Board vary depending on your need and the type of printing you require, using foils may need a thicker board while having a lot of pictures and text will allow a thinner type.

4) Dimensions
Are you using a lot of documents that vary on sizes? Double check the paper or document sizes and make sure the largest document will fit in the folder. Follow the dimensions of that big document and let the printers know how huge you want the folder to be.

5) Edges
If you prefer a rounded edge on the folders it self let the printer know and ask if it would go well with your preferred design and the board type. Most printers will be upfront and let you know if it will look a bit tacky.

6) Slits
Slits are commonly used for business cards or Compact Discs, make sure the slit type you use will hold anything in place no matter the movement of the pocket folder. Slits are commonly 2 or 4, rounded or regular slits.

7) Foil or printed fonts
Foils are like the letterings on hardbound books if you are not too familiar with it. This is commonly preferred by company's who just want their company name or a logo in the pocket folder. It would be cheaper and faster though if you use prints rather than foils if you plan on having a text heavy folder.

8) Pocket type
If you will be requiring tall documents or documents that need to be held together more securely choose slits that vertical cutting almost the entire half of the page. If you have smaller documents you choose the horizontal ones and just choosing how tall the pocket is.

Understand your need for pocket folder printing and concretely let your friendly printer know how you want your pocket folders to look like. Do not forget to haggle to get good rates but remember to be reasonable too because you would not want to ruin the quality of the pocket folders just because you are feeling stingy or you enjoy the art of haggling. Get a good deal and consider thinking long term and have them all printed one time. It would be cheaper and more economical for your business.
