Want some nice graphic tricks for the words in your custom envelopes? Designing custom envelopes is not just about adding images and colors in envelope printing. The words can easily be changed and manipulated to make them look better. So if you are interested in a few simple Adobe Photoshop tricks for the words in your custom envelopes, just read on and see if you can try the tricks below.

• Making word or character outlines - One of the simplest effects that you can use in Photoshop are the blending options. One of these options is the option to add "strokes" on the edges of layers. For text layers this is a great tool to add for words or characters. You can just choose this effect on the appropriate text layer and just activate the color stroke option. By doing this, you add a small color area around the outline of the characters, just like an outlined border. You can of course choose the color of this area as well as its size so that you can adjust it for your theme design. This is option is great for emphasizing certain words or phrases in your custom envelopes.

• Adding and editing shadows - If you want to add a "lifted" effect into the words of your color envelopes, the "shadows" blending option should be the one you want. By using the same blending options stated above, you can just activate the shadows "effect" to add a shadow of the text near the text itself. In Photoshop, you can adjust this shadow according to the angle of light, the spread size, fuzziness etc. This is a good and subtle effect that makes a little improvement in certain words and phrases.

• Adding and editing glows - Just like shadows, you can also make your words glow. This is basically a blending option that adds "light rays" that shoot out from the edges of the layer, or in our case our text. Using the same technique as with the shadows, you can just activate the glow option in your blending options window. There you can adjust the intensity of the glow, its size and even its color and transparency. This is a perfect effect for certain "power words" that you want people to immediately see at first glance of your custom envelopes.

• Adding and editing textures - Your fonts can actually also be filled with certain textures. For example, if you want a text to look like it was made of wood, marble or some sort of other exotic material, it is quite possible to do this in the blending options area. Just activating the filler options gives you the choice of adding certain texture elements to your layers. Basic choices for textures include satin and brick effects, but of course, you can reliably use other custom textures if you like. This is great to use for your custom envelopes that have special themes in their designs.

• Adding and editing color gradients - Finally, you can also add certain color gradients as fillers in your fonts. Color gradients are basically color schemes where one color blends to the next chosen color within the layer area. This adds a nice detailed effect on your text, making it look more alive.
Great! You now can use these tricks to your advantage in your custom envelope printing. Use them wisely and with care. Good Luck!
