If you’ll be attending an event with your promotional coasters, it’s important to consider not just your sales pitch, but also your display. Your promotional coasters will only work for you if you allow them to do their job. Think of your display as a pre-handshake. From across the room, you want your stand to attract others so that you can hand out as many promotional coasters as possible.

One of the best hints to use when you want to make an amazing display to showcase your items is to use a tablecloth. Is the event providing you with a table? That’s great, but few will also provide you with a tablecloth, and you don’t know how nice that table will be. Even if you use plain white, you’ll automatically look more professional, and professionalism is key. You can also consider using colored table clothes is they will work well with your company. Make sure that your promotional coasters and other display items will pop on the colored background instead of getting lost. Of course, don’t forget to iron your tablecloth before the event. You may want to bring a portable iron with you if you’ll be traveling.

Also think about eye-level displays. Laying some information about your business on the table is great, but you want people to be looking up so that they are face to face with you. You can do this quite simply by taking your brochures or other promotional literature, and taping them to a cardboard try-fold display. Also consider using boxes under the tablecloth to create different heights. You can set a basket or shallow bowl full of promotional coasters on top of the covered box to create a pedestal of sorts.

Include some color to keep your table or booth interesting. You don’t have to go all-out, especially if your product is very serious and professional. After all, you want people to believe that you’re a real pro at your job, and if you’re a divorce attorney with a bright pink and green tablecloth and yellow displays, you might get passed! Consider a splash of color here or there. Perhaps a great place to do this is with the actual promotional coasters. Try a colored design on a white or black tablecloth, and you’ll be surprised at how attractive that color will be, without sacrificing professionalism.

Lastly, don’t forget that you yourself are part of your stand’s display. Dress the part! Wearing a business suit is always a good idea for a professional look, but in some cases, a uniform that would be worn by your employees can work well too. Ask yourself what message you want to convey and the work hard to covey it! Think about handing out your promotional coasters to people as they pass by, instead of merely setting them in a basket on the table to be taken. Always smile, and try to use a punch of color near your face with a colored tie, scarf, or jewelry—this will bring the attention to you and what you are saying. Whenever you attend an event with your promotional coasters, make sure that you and your stand are dressed for success!
