The Don'ts to Marketing with Business CardsSubmitted by andrewmichaels Tue, 5 Jan 2010
Here's what you shouldn't do when marketing with print business cards - never ever create business card printing design that doesn't make an impression. You know why? Because business cards are one of the most powerful and effective tools you could ever have in your marketing arsenal.
Print business cards are the very first representations that your target clients will have of your business. These small pieces of paper are your agents that tell your target clients who you are and what you can do. A shoddy or unprofessional business card printing therefore would only say one thing about you or your business - you're unprofessional and should not be trusted. You need to be zealous when it comes to your business card printing. With a little planning and careful consideration, you can always have print business cards that can make a good impression every time. Here are some more blunders you need to veer away from if you want to have business cards that would work every time you print them. DON'T blend; Make waves instead. If you want to be a faint memory to your target clients then by all means do so. Design and print a business card that leaves no real impressions as it is similar to all the business cards out there in the market. But if you want to make a good impression that lasts longer, then you better learn how to design one that looks great, feels great, and clearly tells your target audience what you do as a business. By doing so, you get more impressive remarks that can get you as many clients to remember you for a very long time. DON'T give trash if you don't want to be considered as one. You give trash then you get thrown in the trash. You can't possibly expect your target clients to treat you seriously if you give them a haphazard excuse for a business card. It doesn't work that way. If you want to get treated professionally you need to make an impression that you are a professional. So don't go brandishing business cards that are made of poor quality printing. And with the technologies available nowadays, there's really no excuse for you to look disheveled and scruffy. If there's one lesson you need to learn early on it's no skimping on your budget when it comes to printing business cards because it the first impressions do last for a long, long time. DON'T be difficult. Don't give your target audience with a business card that makes it so hard for them to read what you have written. This means that you got to have a card that is legible and readable, and at the same time free of any confusing images and elements that would only confuse your readers. Don't cram your business card with too many information. Your target audience doesn't want them anyway. All they need is knowledge of who you are and where they can contact you. All the others that they need to know about you they can always ask when they call you. All in all, an impressive business card printing is one that creates an impact and not a ho-hum one. So if you want to be never ignored, don't give a dull one. It takes an excellent and professional quality card to make yourself remembered by your target clients
