Tips for Cost-Effective yet Compelling FlyersSubmitted by andrewmichaels Sat, 22 Aug 2009
Marketing your brand or products can be a highly expensive business technique, but one that cannot be ignored. If you do not saturate the consumer world with your brand, then your business will not have a chance to grow into the profitable company you desire. Often, though, businesses find that most marketing ventures drain their budget too quickly before they have a chance to really make an impact among prospects. Fortunately, there are a few successful advertising tools that are also cost-effective, including flyers.
Sure, flyers are inexpensive but doesn't their appearance match their cheap cost? Not if you use a professional flyer printing company. Wait, won't using a professional be too expensive? Actually, no. In fact, when printing wholesale quantities of flyers, a couple hundred or more, using offset printing takes less time, saves your ink and paper, and costs less than if you used your office inkjet. Plus, the full color method of commercial printing produces striking, photographic quality of images and colors. Sounds great, right? Now all you need to do is design a flyer that captures attention and keeps it long enough for consumers to read your offer and call to action. Not sure where to start? Here are a few tips for designing dynamic flyers that are sure to bring in the customers: 1. Make an irresistible offer in your headline. Don't just offer what Joe down the street is providing. Give consumers what they want - the greatest, easiest, snappiest, and best. Even if you provide the exact same services as Joe, put a twist on it, such as offering a free trial that lasts slightly longer than the one Joe is offering. 2. Don't crowd the rest of your flyer with too much text. Simply answer the question that all buyers ask, "So how does this help me?" Use bulleted points instead of long paragraphs. Use short sentences and take your prospect's side by using second person pronouns ("you" and "your"). Use space between groups of information to lead the reader through your flyer. 3. Using lots of small pictures can clutter the page. One large stunning image is much more impactful and grabs attention easier. Use a professional photograph that relates to your offer. You might use a picture of customers using the product or of an existing client's lawn, for instance, if you own a lawn service company. 4. You may want to include a few customer testimonials. This can be one of the most successful ways to convince a prospect of your ability to provide quality services or products. Use the first and last name, occupation, and the city and state of the endorser. 5. Last, but most importantly, don't forget to provide readers with clear directions for taking the next step, such as call a number or visit a website. You may also want to include a discount coupon with a deadline to compel clients to actually make the contact. Finally, make your call to action stand out from the rest of the text by using contrasting colors.
