What are Pocket Folders and how to Make Them

Pocket folders are important for any business to look more professional. It can house just about anything you have from brochures, articles, magazines, business cards etc. Take time to clarify what you want before saying yes to pocket folder printing so you are assured of great looking pocket folders. Pocket folders are used in the business all the time so create one carefully so you can stick with the design for a while.

1) board type
the type of board used depends highly on the availability of the printers and your preference for minimalism. Do you like to see pictures of your company or do you just prefer to see your company's name in the front or back? Take time to choose between the available paper and what the printers suggest because in the long run you will end working with them so might as well tap their knowledge on printing.

2) pocket type
Pocket types vary. Most of them have pockets that cut the entire half of the page while some is just an inch from the bottom. Consider what you will be using it for and the documents you will be using it for. Ask your printer what would work best with your required documents and the pros and cons of their available pockets.

3) color
Remember that colors attract or detract so pick your colors wisely. If your company has a general color they use to identify themselves it is wise to use that color or a hue near to it. Ask your designer or the printers what colors would be good to use with your fonts or pictures.

4) font
Fonts are perfect because it can be altered in so many ways. Ask your printers for their font availability and if you are considering using foils let them know because not all fonts will be available. It is best to use fonts that do not have too much design but also avoid using fonts that are too artsy that are barely understandable.

5) foil
Fonts are pretty and professional to look at specially if you more of a minimalist. Foils are letterings that are embossed using colored foils. You can have your company name, logo or contact information put there and it will still simple but professionally done.

6) slit type
Slits vary depending on need. Most of the time it is used to house the business cards we want our potential clients to keep. Slit types vary with the edges and the number of slits. Let your printer know if you prefer rounded slits or two straight opposing side slits. Your main goal is to make sure that it holds what you need in place.

7) edges
edges vary in your slits and the entire folders. Normally you can request if you want your edges to be a little rounded or if pointed just as it usually looks. Most of the time edges are not touched.

Creating folders is easy especially if you know what you will be needing it for and how you want it to look. Consider every option possible before actually committing the project for pocket folder printing. Folders are very useful so if you have people who need folders they can easily reuse them and who knows someone might see it and contact your business out of curiosity.
