When Printing Brochures…

Submitted by andrewmichaels

So you've spent many of your days and hours creating the best custom brochures for your business. Now it's time for you to print brochures. And when you print your marketing collaterals, there are many ways to do it - you either print them from your personal printer, send your file to a local printer, or avail of the brochure printing company's website to upload your print file. The choice is yours which one is the most convenient and cost effective for your budget.

If you are thinking of printing your custom brochures yourself, first thing you should do is to have enough ink and paper stock available during the time of printing. You wouldn't want to suddenly stop in the middle of your printing just because you need to get a fresh supply of ink or paper stock from the retail store. Especially that you're printing a big amount of marketing materials, you really need to be aware of how much and how many do you need to print your marketing collaterals so as to avoid wasting your time, effort and money in the process. (By the way; be sure to choose a slightly thicker paper stock over the regular copy paper. Your marketing collaterals will be able to last longer.)

Next, open a new brochure document to begin your brochure design and layout. Then go to the ‘File' icon; afterwards, print or click your mouse o the ‘Properties' tab in your computer. Choose the "Best" from your speed in printing brochures. It can also allow you to print with full ink coverage. Just remember that the slower you get when printing your brochures, the more coverage you get from your print job output.

Then check your design layout for each of your pages. Always remember to choose Landscape mode for your page layout. This way, you can manage the pages in your print brochures to the size that is appropriate to your brochure printing.

Choose the ‘duplex' option too when you are printing on both sides of your paper. This would definitely save you time, effort, and not to mention money when you are already printing your brochures in your personal printer.

Then go back to the main ‘Print' dialog box so you can print on the other side of your print brochure. If you are using a desktop inkjet, you would need to turn the paper manually if you need to print at the back of your pages.

Finally, check and proofread your brochure before you continue printing the amount that you need. Try applying the fold to ensure that you have all the panels right in your brochure printing. Make sure that the text can be read and understood when you finally have the fold in your final output.

Then continue printing.

On the other hand, if you choose to get your print brochures done professionally by a printing company, shop around before you finally decide on your print provider. Call and ask around so you can compare not only the prices but also the kind of job that you expect from your brochure printing. Check also the turnaround time as you need to know that your brochure printer can provide you with the output at the time that you need to distribute your brochures.

And once you've decided on a printer to provide you with your marketing collaterals, be sure to email or send your file to them in the accepted printing form, e.g. jpeg, Photoshop file, Adobe InDesign format, Photoshop, among others. If you do it online, you just need to upload your file and then click on the required details for your print order.
