The automotive business still thrives in times of economic downturn. Though many are not purchasing vehicles, they still need to service and maintain them. With over 249 million cars on the road in the US and more than $35 billion spent to take care of them, the time to take on an auto franchise has never been better.

Americans are holding on to their vehicles longer, many of which require more maintenance as they age. Tires, oil changes, engine checks, and brakes are the most common needs, all requiring parts and labor. Women make up the highest number of those needing vehicles serviced, averaging more than 66% per industry statistics. Opening a more family friendly, customer service oriented auto franchises is one reason to attract this spending demographic. Women look for the following things in an auto franchise in addition to customer service:

Overall cleanliness of facility.
Ease in obtaining service in a timely manner.

While not all auto franchises require waiting areas and amenities, the overall ability to attract repeat customers based upon convenient location is also important. Women are apt to book an oil change or service appointment if the business's location is in close proximity to a hair salon, fitness center, grocery store or any other related business. Women tend to multi-task, wanting to make the best use of their time.
