Avoiding Strangers through Face Recognition System

Submitted by facerec

An innovative invention of face recognition system is visitor management system. This technique can be used in a place which manages high volume of traffic like in bank, hospitals, corporate houses etc. This system not only used for keeping count of availability of person. It can also be used for restricting unauthorized individual to come inside a highly secured place.

It is gaining popularity because of the ‘not to touch' property. It means security is provided to the entire area without any physical contact with the human beings. Since, there is no physical touch therefore level of threat also get minimized. It is so because considering the conventional devices, those were so sensitive that could get hampered if punched by a pin or any other metal devices. So, keeping this disadvantage into our mind a solution has been proposed, and visitor management system has been developed which follows face recognition system.

Working Procedure:

When an individual enters into the room for the first time, the device scans the figure. Generate a new face ID following auto enrollment. The device operator fills different details of the individual. Thus the information gets stored in the database. Now when the same person visits the place for the second time they need not to wait for a long. As the device is programmed in an efficient way so when it senses the image it matches the captured face patterns with the stored patterns and generates the results immediately.

Earlier, when people used to come in bulk to a place, they used to stand in a long queue. They used to make an entry in the register notebook and used to get a visitor's card. If during their visit they would have misplaced their card departure used to become a hurdle. Also, it used to consume greater amount of everyone's precious time.

For example, in many hospitals, to get entry in some specific ward one needs to go through the registration process. There this application would be very effective to keep track of the new and old visitors.

As stated above, not only to keep track of individuals, this can be used for restricting persons to enter somewhere. This is done, when a person visits first time his face ID is maintained in the database. Now, if the person is suspected for some threat, his priority can be marked low. If it is marked low then during his next visit, he would not be allowed to enter into that area. Thus, it also secures an area from burglars.

With this application, various things can be monitored like daily visit of a particular individual, visitor frequency report, visitor statistics etc.

In this modern world, there are some organization who are still using the primitive method for handling the visitors, doing so they are wasting there precious time which can be channelized into a fruitful direction for the organization's growth and development. In order to achieve that, visitor management system would be the best method.
