Power Protection Global Market Demand Analysis Market Intelligence Program report ( http://www.bharatbook.com/Market-Research-Reports/Power-Protection-Global-Market-Demand-Analysis-Market-Intelligence-Program-Volume-1-UPSs-20-kVA-and-Under-Americas.html ) on the UPS 20 kVA and Under markets, and three reports on the UPS 20.1 kVA and Over markets. These reports analyze shipments of uninterruptible power supplies to the Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), and Asia-Pacific regions. The reports also contain rankings of purchase criteria by UPS specifiers, competitive market share, discussions of energy storage technologies and profiles of leading and emerging vendors. The reports are designed to serve as a marketing tool for companies who currently manufacture or resell UPSs, or for companies who are considering entering these markets.

Damage to computers and home electronics gear due to power quality events can cost consumers both money and time. Just as energy consumption in large data centers is a concern, small and medium business owners are looking for easy ways to reduce their operating costs. As they deploy new applications and expand their IT infrastructures, the demand for green technology and energy-efficient UPS equipment is be present in these environments as well.

Trends responsible for growing shipments of 20 kVA and under UPSs include:

• Consumer and business use of PCs and workstations with higher power requirements;
• Use of UPSs as power centers, with more devices - such as printers, scanners and external drives - connected to these UPSs;
• Proliferation of "prosumer" home entertainment equipment and the desire to protect these sizable investments; and
• Corporate-wide "green" initiatives.

Awareness of these trends alone will not lead to success. Efforts to deliver reliable, easy-to-install and easy-to-use products are necessary. Meeting these criteria will also help to enhance a company's brand and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. Delivering products that meet these requirements while maintaining sustainable pricing will be critical to a supplier's long-term success.
Market Overview

Worldwide shipments of 20 kVA and under UPSs totaled $US 3,991.6 million in 2007 (Exhibit 1). Shipments are forecast to grow with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.0%, reaching $US 6,138.9 million in 2012. While the Americas were responsible for the largest portion of shipments, the Asia-Pacific region represents the largest opportunity for growth through 2012.Market leaders APC and Eaton continue to look for ways to maintain and increase their market share
(Exhibit 2). In addition to improving the efficiency of their UPSs, APC has also introduced UPSs designed specifically to protect home AV equipment. APC has also sought to attract environmentally-conscious consumers by establishing a battery recycling program with Staples.
Low-power focused UPS suppliers and high-power focused UPS suppliers develop different channel strategies for delivering their products to customers. Low-power UPSs - because of their ease of use and installation - tend to not require extensive customer service. These products are usually sold through retailers and other resellers that do not offer value-added services, such as online merchants and catalog houses.
