Bill Bartmann Thoughts on Business Ownership vs Working a Job

Submitted by billpr09

Most of us just cannot afford to leave our jobs and face the risk involved in starting a business. The regular salary is needed for the bills that come in regularly. Many people would not feel safe if they struck out on their own. But think about this; how secure is your job? You could be laid off or fired without notice tomorrow.

For those who just cannot take the risk, maybe a small business on the side is the answer. With hard work, creativity and motivation, you can start a small business and do what you like doing. If the business is successful, you will be able to leave your job and be your own boss one day.

Thousands of people are into the idea of operating their own business for the freedom, financial security and quality of life that can be experienced by reaching a higher level.

Can you take the risk? Are you the head of your household and sole breadwinner or does your spouse make a good living? If you are married, maybe one of you can focus on starting the business while the other provides the necessary income to maintain your household.

If you are single, you may want to continue working part-time while you start your business. It is always a good idea to have something to fall back on if things do not work out; however, be careful not to lose your focus while you rely on your fall back. If your job and your business prove to be too much to handle, and you don’t have a family depending on you, maybe you can take the risk, quit the job and focus on a business. This will certainly provide the motivation you need to succeed.

Remember that it takes a lot of work and planning to own a successful business. Consider the risk involved, but don’t forget about the rewards that business ownership offers.

Bill Bartmann has owned several businesses; he understands the rewards of entrepreneurship and the pitfalls. Bill Bartmann is a self-made billionaire who went from homeless at the age of 14 to becoming a billionaire, going bankrupt, then bouncing back to do it again! Bill has had his self-doubts and even bouts of depression; he wouldn’t be human otherwise. However, when self-esteem is strong and you’re clear about your values, then you can bounce back from the lows; each time, you bounce back just a little bit higher.
