Like a person, a corporation has a reputation that it would like to hold. And depending on the reputation a corporation would want others to see and believe it has, the corporation acts and conducts itself accordingly.

Corporate Reputation - Having One

Corporate reputation is how a company is seen by its staff, suppliers, customers and society in general. Having a good corporate reputation generally means the company has abided by the rule of fair play and is honest in its business transactions. It is also usually understood as a company that is proactive in their social responsibility - and may have played an active role in helping the society they are in, or may have supported worthy causes brought up for their help.

Having a good corporate reputation will have a positive impact to every individual or even to other businesses your company will come in contact with. With your company's good reputation, it will be seen as a business with a heart and would generate certain emotions from suppliers, consumers and the community in general, that would make it profitable for your company.

Branding Corporate Reputation - Your Declaration

Even if you have a laudable corporate reputation, but if nobody knows it, your company will not benefit from it. Even if you have an admirable corporate reputation, but if you are keeping it to yourself - it can be manipulated by mean competitors so that you will be seen as a company with a bad corporate reputation.

It becomes necessary, even with the limited budget you may have, to involve your company in efforts of branding corporate reputation. Not only will your company be seen in a positive light, you will be able to negate any untoward statements directed towards your firm.

Branding Corporate Reputation - Why It Should Be Done

Branding corporate reputation is not about boasting on having a commendable one - and the more it is not about misleading others on having a praiseworthy one, even if the opposite is true.

Branding corporate reputation is about being transparent on the principles that drive your business; it is about showing to the public what your company is about, and what its culture is; it is about letting the people know how you conduct your business - it is about opening your doors for truth to come out with regards to your business integrity and ethics. Improving the bottom line because of this is only secondary - though it is a welcomed consequence.
