Choosing a job after training is sometimes directly indirect.

Submitted by Craven

Having recently completed a web design course in Salisbury. I was trying to get on to the bottom rung of the ladder and get some quality training in the workplace. Initially I was met with a great deal of struggle to the fact that my web design skills where all college associated and I didn’t have any real practice in the trade. Luckily for me when speaking to a business just beyond Salisbury for web design work they offered me something different that allowed me to get my foot in the door .

The business not only did web design but provided a search engine optimisation service ( SEO ) to its customers which had a job space free. Initially I hadn’t even looked at doing work that wasn’t web design. Due to its nearness to Salisbury I gave online marketing a chance. Probably one of the best choices that I have come to and would suggest it to people trying to get into a pretty specific field.

If there is a role within a business you are applying for that isn’t just what you were after but that has to dip into aspects of your training it is a good way of stepping into the business environment. It doesn’t matter if you are looking for jobs Bournemouth, Dorset, London or New York after you have gained experience in the field you are in, either job possibilities will present themselves within the company or you will have more chances when looking for a new employer. I have found that most jobs have a way of being broader than that written in the job details, so you are very likely to get more skills and responsibility than you might think.
