Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are designed to provide human resource psychological and counseling services. EAPs are aimed at maximizing the health consciousness of employees to gain more strengths and capabilities. An EAP is an external entity hired by a company to assist their employees with mental health or stress related problems due. They initiatives are integrated into the workplace as part of the health, safety and training programs of the company and in conjunction with labor regulations.

EAPs are holistic in nature. They do not only remain limited to the performance related issues but integrate holistic needs of employees to manage with work stress, emotional stress, family stress. An EAP will assess the needs of the employee requiring assistance. EAP services specialize in resolving workplace conflict and work related stress. The main objective of an EAP is to assist employee in minimizing the conflicts between work and personal problems so as to improvise on the productivity and efficiency. This way Employees can have a better attitude toward their employer and they feel like a valued and important member of the corporate team. Well planned EAP can be an asset to a company and worth every penny that is spent on it.
