Uncovering America’s Richest Neighborhoods’ secret

Submitted by lenjen1386

Coming out this January is Ryan D’Agostino’s Rich Like Them: My Door-To-Door Search for the Secrets of Wealth in America’s Richest Neighborhoods. The author who is also an Articles Editor for Esquire went knocking on the doors of America’s wealthiest to know what is the secret to get rich.

Well, the author has a point. We keep on reading self-help books written by finance gurus. So why not get in touch with the real “rich” people in the country. Anyways, they sure have the inside scoop on how to become a financial success.

The author noted some of the richest zip codes in the US and ventured into their world. Lavish backyards, expensive cars and even an army tank collection welcomed D’Agostino as he spoke to these high-end citizens. The guy spoke to over 500 wealthy residents so question is, was he able to find the answer to his quest? Well that’s for you to find out when you read the book.

One of the book’s key point to financial success is to lookout for opportunities around you. Says the author in his interview with Marie Claire:

“One guy was a broker in the ’60s when the market was pretty bad. He decided to sell municipal bonds when no one else was doing it and spent all day cold-calling for hardly any commission — he’d make $35 an hour doing $5 million trades. His coworkers thought he was nuts, but when the market turned, a client called and wanted to buy big. Others followed. Once the broker had a client with a private plane, the guys at work changed their question from “What are you doing?” to “How did you do that?’”

Another highlight pointed out in the book is to be patient. We can use our business to practice our patience. Since it takes a lot of time (and effort) to see visible results, we need to keep cool all the time. This is where the law of attraction comes in perfectly: know what you want, ask, believe that success is coming your way and be open to receive that positive vibe. And the subjects in D’Agostino’s book definitely practiced patience to get where they are now.

It’s undeniable. We all want to be rich. We ask ourselves over and over again how did they (the rich) do it? So perhaps the book might be of some help in creating our own success strategies.
