Don't settle for ‘Standard' excuses from your Courier company.

The UK Courier market is very busy, with a spectrum of small to large firms operating around the country. The problem that many businesses and consumers face is choosing the right one. At the end of the day a courier company can make or break a business that relies of goods being shipped from a warehouse to the customer. If deadlines aren't met, or goods are not received in an acceptable condition then customers are not going to be happy.

Here we have compiled a small list of excuses that your Courier Company should NOT be using as reasons for not meeting your expectations.

"The traffic was really bad" - OK, as a one off maybe this is an acceptable reason and entirely true. There is nothing worst than getting stuck on a motorway in heavy traffic. However, most Courier companies have GPS installed these days and should be able to navigate their way around a jam.

"My Van broke down" - again, it happens, but if it happens on a regular basis then you should be questioning the courier companies' fleet of vehicles. A courier company HAS to have a reliable fleet or they cannot carry out the core duties of the service that they advertise to provide.

"I had problems finding the drop off location" - Again, these days such an excuse is simply not acceptable. GPS technology is more affordable than ever and every courier fleet vehicle should have it installed.

One of the biggest problems that face courier companies is meeting time sensitive deliveries. These services are often used by companies that need to have documents or products delivered to them within a certain time period to allow them to carry out their daily tasks. As soon as the courier company lets them down (and lets you down) then recipient faces a disrupted day schedule.

Which such a wide choice of Courier companies out there you shouldn't need to make sacrifices on quality because of cost. If you offer a courier company repeat business then consider entering into negotiations to get better rates, but tread carefully and don't let cost reductions mean service reductions.
