Don't Travel With Your Gold Coins

Submitted by AureliaMasterson

Executive Summary - A US person traveling to Panama through Mexico was stopped by Mexican police at the airport in Mexico City. He had 150 one ounce gold coins in his possession. The coins were in plastic tubes in his hand luggage. The Mexican authorities took the gold coins based on a random search. They also seized $3600 in cash. The fellow Arnold Martin was arrested by the Mexicans even though he did have a photocopy of a proof of purchase on a letterhead.

What To Learn - Do not try transporting gold in any quantity. We would think five or so coins would be ok. If this fellow ever got out of Mexico with the coins I doubt he would have made it out of the Panama Airport. We get calls all the time from people who ask us how to get their gold out of the USA. Well there is no reliable way.

What to Do? - Get a corporate Hong Kong bank Account through us and buy the gold through your bank account online. It is a trillion dollar bank. When you want to sell you can execute a sell during trading orders and have the cash in your bank account in five minutes or less. Then you can wire the money out, take it out of atm machines or whatever. You can access your gold from anywhere in the world online. Beats trying to transport physical gold through airports.
