H R issues on the side of workers and employers

Submitted by poly

It is not easy being an employer nor is it to be ordered around as an employee.

Both parties do encounter issues that require expert knowledge so as to make the right decisions in midst of the specific problems.

In many cases, it is the workers who put up with their employers cruel or unfair practices because they have a lot to loose, should they get dismissed.

Deep inside, we all acknowledge that this is not reasonable and it is the reason why such HR issues must always be raised to create awareness or offer clues to those ensnared in dilemma situations.

Women employees

All employers do not respect women’s beauty or just personality, which is why issues of sexual abuse at the work places are common.

This may actually be real intimacy or just words or actions that suggest that your boss is interested in you personally and is using his position to demand compliance with his desires.

Many women are suffering this fact that is not easy to deal with or even make the company’s HR officers believe in them.

By the way, this is the right place to report sexual harassment to before it can be taken to top management or outside like in courts.

The other issue surrounding women is hunting for a job when one is pregnant or asking for a maternity leave benefits without losing their current jobs.

Seeking for a job while pregnant is not an assurance that one will go past the interviewing panel particularly if it is noticeable.

Where it is not, and you already know that the expected job vacancy involves lots of physical effort, it would be wise to be honest and disclose that you are pregnant.

Remember that, any new employees goes through an induction process or the probation where they are made familiar with the work place and the employer would not agree to incur the same cost after a woman has gone for a maternity leave.

Those eying other employer’s jobs while attached to the current

This is actually discouraging for an employer to realize that most of his current workers are dissatisfied in his company and are eyeing a rival somewhere.

But employees on the contrary are free to leave to wherever they feel that their skills, knowledge, talent and experience is well embraced and respected.

Similarly they may feel as if actions to secure employment with new employers are wrong, but this is untrue.

What they need to do is talk about this as soon as they become assured of another opening with a rival employer so as not ruin their current one.

The employers on the other hand should not be pushed to raise the salaries abnormally so as to stop their workers from leaving, instead, it would be wise to make effective use of them while still around.

Many make the mistake of recognizing a key talent only when it is asking to be allowed to leave and look for good pastures.

What is really important and wise is for such a manager whose loyal workforce no longer trust him or her is to question their leadership role and identify where they are going wrong.
