Arts/Film making: Difference Between Degrees and Diplomas

Submitted by simond1986

It happens sometimes when we in hurry and excitement to get something forget to check some important things and later on repent for that. It has been seen that many students enrolling themselves in Arts/Film making schools forget to check whether they are offering degree courses or diploma courses and later on they face hurdles on their way to success. It is important for you to learn about the program of any school before you enroll in it in sheer excitement. If you want achieve great success in this field of arts and film making, you must pursue degree programs rather than diplomas or certificate programs. The later programs help you to get experienced in the field of film making but cannot help you enter an industry directly.

What I mean to say that there is great difference between Degree and Diploma of Arts/Film making. Degree from a recognized university or institute has more value than diploma in such course. The degree is an extensive program which teaches you everything related to your field of study, whereas diploma is a short term course which wraps up important or basic topics and gives you a fair idea of what film making is all about. Even if you want to pursue higher studies in arts and film making like MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in Filmmaking, you would need your degree such as Bachelor of Fine Arts on Filmmaking. While you enquire a film school, ask them the courses and programs they offer, their faculty and success rate.
