Temperate ManagementSubmitted by echo_promotions Wed, 30 Jan 2008
Temperance. Temperance is moderation or self-restraint in action and statement. You could also say that it's the ability you have to control yourself. Your willpower, your self-discipline. Lord Alfred Tennyson, an English poet once declared, "The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions." Success, as an individual and also as a business manager, can be acquired when we empower ourselves through using self-discipline or temperance.
Temperate is a very important word in terms of entrepreneurs learning to be outstanding managers. It's a word which exemplifies the soul of Self-Control. As a manager of ideas and various business activities, having power over your emotions is an important attribute. You should control your mood weather in the state of elation, or the state of depression; neither emotion will help you in running your company. This word also indicates the need to control excesses. Excesses have the ability to take control of you and your organization. For instance, an excess in spending can become as addictive as drugs. To strengthen your temperance, try some of these exercises this week: -Stop eating once your hunger has been satisfied; forget what your mother said, and don't concern yourself with eating all the food on your dish. -Rather than laughing, just smile. -Resist indulging in one of your habits this week: try no sugar, no wine, or maybe no burgers (just as an exercise to allow you to practice self-discipline to master the attribute of temperance). As you go throughout your week, try some of these exercises to practice your self-control and increase your temperance. Willpower is a great deal like a muscle of the body, when you use it, it becomes stronger and more powerful. If you don't use it, it becomes weak. Try to use temperance and self control to and improve your life and your managing skills. NOTE: Use of this article requires links to be intact. About the Author
