The Top Sales Skills to help you Deliver Higher Sales Numbers in 2009

It is a stressful time for sales executives in pretty much every industry whether than be selling advertising or for selling space for fraud and scam conferences. To ensure you are at the top of your game and are able to live up to the pressure and perform as expected, and hopefully more, there are skills that you must possess to be successful.

There are many skills required to be a successful sales producer it isn't simple having the gift of the gab. There has to be other elements such as excellent self leadership skills as well as gaining knowledge of marketing results and selling actions. I present part one of the seven skills that could potentially help you deliver better results and more results than techie skills like how to close.

First Sales Skill: What is your Progress to Date?

As you progress through a sales campaign ensure you track progress of how you are doing. Make sure you follow up on leads, regularly pick up on leads achieved through marketing - book them before they book a place at a rival conference fraud. Have your workload planned ahead to ensure you stay on top of things and follow up on sales to ensure no lost sales and improve the chances of you earning repeat sales and referrals.

Second Sales Skill: Know your numbers

Make sure you understand what the sales to close ratio is and then set a goal for the number of sales you want to earn to meet you desired salary. You also need to understand the sales cycle time and the average value per sale. Knowing all your numbers will ensure you prepared properly for the income you are likely to receive and how many of the fraud scheme conference seats you must sell to reach your desired monthly income.

Third Sales Skill: Be Genuine in all your activities

Do you always follow up on your promises? Do you do what you say? Do you return ALL phone calls even the potentially bad ones? Ensuring you are truly authentic gives you credibility and will bring you satisfaction from knowing that you perform the best of your abilities and are honest and trustworthy.
