Customer Follow Up... 5 Reasons Why You MUST Start Now

Submitted by dozierdd

Every business owner knows that following up with their customers will increase profits, but most fail to implement a systematic process for achieving it.

I would like to share with you 5 reasons why you should immediately start following up with your customers & prospects now.

#1 - Save Money: By following up, you will save money. It costs 10 times more money to acquire a new customer than it does to follow up and increase the frequency of spend with a current one. Your loyal customers are just waiting for you to give them a reason to buy more, more, more.

#2 - Increase Word of mouth marketing - Happy customers spread good news about your business. And the way to create a happy excited, and loyal customer is to build strong relationships with them. The more contact you make with your customers, the more news they have to spread to their family and friends. If you fail to follow up, your word of mouth marketing will never reach its full potential. Possibly losing you thousands in sales.

#3 - Customer Control - Aren’t there times throughout the year, especially when business is slow, that you wish you could have a sale for all of your customers so they can come in and pick up business? Well, by having a current and up to date database you can contact them instantly. Easily make them aware of sales, promotions, or specials that you’re having.

#4 - Competition - The average person is exposed to over 5,000 advertisements daily. Many of those ads are from competitors in your own industry. There is no choice when it comes to great service and followup. You must remain at the top of your customers mind or else you risk losing them.

#5 - No One Else Is - Isn’t it amazing that most of the multi-million dollar companies make customer follow up a priority, but 90% of small businesses never touch it. There’s obviously a reason the big guys focus on follow up. Maybe one of the reasons is because no one else is.

Again, customer follow up is something that all small business owners know they should do, but don’t. Time may be the issue. I know that it is a lot of work to run a business. Sometimes there’s just not enough of you to go around. That’s why a great customer follow up system should work automatically without distracting you from you normal business obligations.

Start a customer follow up system now. Use the services of a good company to automate the process for you. It will definitely pay off in the long run.
