Be prepared to take the first step to be Financially Happy

With the millions and millions of layoffs that are happening right now, for many of us we are looking at it as a time and the opportunity to go off in a different direction. If you had a dead end job, maybe today is the time to start your own home business.

There is no reason in this world why you cannot be financially happy too. Life was never meant to keep us poor, to tell you the truth it does not take a genius to finally get to the position when you can say to yourself, I'm financially happy.

When I was much younger than I am today, 81, I read a book that completely changed my life, and I will tell you now, I still take a peek at it now and again. I can't recall how many times I have read it.

How am I going to get you financially happy, well we have started already. To be financially happy one must have an open mind and have the right attitude, and the right attitude happens when you mix with the people who have great attitude.

Attitude

Let me explain it like this with a short story. When I left school at the age of 14 with a grade 7 education, I immediately started work in the coal mines in Newcastle on Tyne. Most kids in our area did exactly that.

At the age of 16, like the others I started to go to the Pubs. While drinking beer and smoking our heads off, the conversation was always the same. Always complaining. Complaining about our jobs, our bosses, our living conditions, anything, we would complain even about the good things in life. By the way there were not many of those.

I hope you get the idea!! How could a young lad, ever get the right attitude in that environment, impossible.

A few years later, I had a family, my wife is from London, different environment. She must have thought there was a chance for me. (By the way next month is our 55th Wedding anniversary).

Continuing on. MY wife and I along with 2 children left England for Canada. I had been getting the message about attitude somewhere, I don't know how. But as a negative person there was no way I would have took the challenge of Canada, unless my attitude had changed.

Since I have arrived in Canada I have been a Millionaire three times, broke 4. I don't mind the broke times because I always knew I could do it again.

The cause of my change in attitude was because on arrival in Canada I began to sell vacuum cleaners. Going from the Coal mines to selling vacuums wasn't much of a lift business ventures.

Well my friends you couldn't be further from the mark. This is why today I am financially happy and I want you to be financially happy too.

I can recall the first time I walked into the vacuum cleaner office. Imagine I was an uneducated kid from England who was scared, sh....less.., and didn't know what to expect.

That day will remain with me for the rest of my life. First of all, everyone of the sales people, 16 of them, came up and shook my hand, everyone. I sat down and listened to these guys with my mouth open. I sat there for about 2 hours and I will tell you this, for the first time in my life I never heard one word of complaint about anything. My mind began toi change fro\m tht day on.

I soon began training myself never to have a negative thought in my mind, never to think bad about anyone. Everyone of these guys were friends with each other, they never even thought to give anyone a bad time. From that moment my life changed.

I began to read "Think and Grow Rich" and I grew up. Growing up in my thoughts and my attitude.

By the way within 6 months I sold more vacuum cleaners than anyone in Canada. So, I sincerely believe attitude has made me financially happy.
