Experimental Marketing Explained

Submitted by Chriss Tyrrell
Sat, 3 Oct 2009

Perhaps you've already been attempting to research experimental marketing and have been coming up pretty much empty handed. There's a simple reason for this lack of information and that is that its "experimental"! Give it some time because once the "experimenting" is done with, people may be more inclined to share what they have learned.

New Email Marketing Strategies - Part Art & Part Science

In the mean time some results are in on some types of what was experimental marketing only a few months back and is now going mainstream. For instance, new forms of direct email marketing are yielding fantastic results for those who take the time to learn all that they entail. You see, they are part art & part marketing science.

The End of Spamming Was the Impetus to develop New Methods

It was the end of spamming that forced experimental marketers back into their laboratories to come up with new "legal ways" to take advantage of the massive email system. After all, it's a direct shot straight into millions of potential client's living rooms and all they needed was a way to simply email people in mass without violating any laws.

New Software Developments Assist Experimental Marketers

The end result was the development of new email harvesting techniques that revolve around enticing people to "willingly give" you their email addresses. You see, once that has been done, you're then free to email them and with new software that has since been developed, you can manage lists of thousands of email addresses in these types of experimental marketing campaigns.

Harvesting Their Email Address is Just the Beginning

The basic modus operandi involves a website that features some type of service/product or keyword related information product. Most often an eBook. Simply type in your email address and name and you can then download a (free eBook). However; for the most savvy of email marketers this is just the beginning. You see from there they will offer other free-bees to these people in exchange for filling out surveys, etc.

The Art of Getting Into Potential Clients & Customers Minds

Or they may simply contact them with a list of free eBooks to select from, with a limit of only one or two. They then use the information garnered by the topics of the information products that they selected to further fine tune their marketing strategy. In the end though the goal is always the same.

Getting All the Ducks Lined Up In a Row First

That is maximum sales for the maximum amount of money. It's an experimental marketing system that incorporates all the best in marketing techniques. That is that it first identifies potential clients. Next it cultivates their trust with free-bees and unbiased product information. At the same time it identifies their interests and needs. Then and only then, after they have been effectively groomed as paying clients are they approached for actual business.
