For years employees have been looking for ways to free themselves from visiting the office on a daily basis. It's not really a wonder either, with commute times getting longer, driving to the office can take as much as 3 additional hours out of an employees day. Salespeople might be seeing this becoming more and more commonplace though. With tools becoming available everyday that make working from home easier, salepeople are utilizing web based crm software and blackberries to keep in touch with their prospects.

CRM Software is simply a database that contains contact information for your leads and customers. It can be as simple as a database containing contact information and as complex as a tool that's used for sending out scheduled emails, cards, and direct mail pieces. In these days as competition gets more fierce, CRM Software is considered a must have for most salespeople. This might come as a shock, but the best salepeople are more process oriented than master salepeople. The best salepeople find the process that works best in their market and then put that process into a system that can generate leads for them day in and day out. Up until recently, most salepeople needed to come into the office in order to have access to the tools to make their jobs easier.

Enter web based crm software, a salepersons best friend. The days of being tied to the office are over since a simple web connection can allow a saleperson to access their crm from anywhere with an internet connection. This means that a saleperson who needs to stay home with a sick child or wants to work on the weekends, can now do so from the comfort of their own home.

Managers might fear that this would not allow them to keep an eye on their employees any longer since they aren't in the office. But, as we know, salepeople are measured by their output, and not necessarily their input. But, if that's a real concern then CRM software has you covered, you can still monitor the calling activity of a salesperson, whether in the office or not!
