Keeping Up with the Promises done through Postcard PrintingSubmitted by alrock Mon, 21 Apr 2008
In business, promises should be taken seriously. Even if those promises were done through postcard printing, they must be truthful. You cannot tell your customers that you will give them the moon when all you can afford to give them is the sky.
But that is only a sample. You shouldn’t promise the moon or the sky for real. That would be given a red tag the instant they see it as extreme advertising. Understand the Market Imagine yourself as a customer. Everyday, you are bombarded with different ads. Those ads each promise different things. If the consumers would believe all those, everybody will have the following by now. • No one will ever be mocked because of their color. This is because if they use the advertised beauty soap, their skin will be whiter in just seven days. • Everybody will be happy all the time despite too much stress from their families and work. This will be true if they take a certain vitamin brand that promises to make them stay energetic all day. • No one will be worried about their weight. This is applicable as long as they eat certain brands of food, drinks and snacks that have no calories. • Forget acnes and pimples. The advertised soap kills 99 percent of the germs so you will be acne-free and pimple-free. • All dentists will run out of jobs. People will just opt to use the brand of toothpaste that cleans teeth from within and even while you are sleeping. Promises, Promises Through the years, these promises have been told to people. Some were even accompanied by professionals’ testimonials. They were even used in postcard printing and other popular advertising mediums. Although not all of them contain false information, the fact still remains that so many promises have already been made. If you are the customer, by now you will be vigilant as to what you buy. You must not depend solely on what’s being advertised. Experience will be a better ally in terms of choosing the right product to buy. So as a business owner and as an advertiser, you must remember the following. This can be applied when you write down your promises on your postcards. 1. Promise only what you can commit to. This also goes for promotions. Do not swallow what you cannot chew. This will not result to anything positive. 2. Make sure that you have proof to your claims. If your product can make people whiter, show evidence. Show a real person who have used the product and indicate the changes in her skin after using it. 3. Provide a disclaimer. Not everybody will gain same benefits from same products. People will have different reactions to every product that they will use. So it is important to tell clients immediately that not everybody will reap positive results from the advertised tool. 4. Stay real. People will love you for it in the long run. Promises are good as long as you can keep those promises. So the next time you’d like to add some promises to your postcard printing projects, think hard. Do not write anything that may mislead people. This can also lead you to your own downfall. About the Author
