Low-Cost Marketing Techniques That Can Be Done EasilySubmitted by kitkat Tue, 5 Jul 2011
Even the most successful and established businesses find it hard to draw in new customers all the time. Sometimes, they resort to investing a lot of money in their marketing campaign just to reach their target customers. If you are a small business, and do this, you are likely to end up bankrupt rather than successful. The truth is there are cost effective marketing strategies you can do today that won't take up much money and effort. With careful planning and a little creativity, you can easily generate new customers and business.
Here are some of these effective and low cost marketing strategies you can do in your business: 1. Keep a good supply of business cards. This may seem old school, but business card printing remains an important part of modern marketing. You can't expect everyone to use the Internet or buy smartphones these days. There would still be some people who would prefer to receive business cards. Aside from personally giving out your cards, you can also give them out in other ways: • Leave them on the table of the restaurant just dine in. • When mailing bill payments, consider inserting your card. • When returning a book you borrowed from the library, insert your card in the pages. • When at a book shop, insert your card in some of the books that is relevant to your business. The next person who gets the book might see your card and keep it. • Leave them in the dentist's office or dry cleaner. • You can also leave them at the reception area of the offices you visit. • You can give your cards to your friends and family and ask them to give it out to people they know who will be interested in your offerings. 2. Make it a point to meet a new person each day and give out your card to him or her. When you meet someone at the gym, grocery store, or even at the park, try to talk to them and if they seem interested in your business, be sure to leave your card before you end your conversation. You can even leave them two cards so they can pass it out to someone they know how might be interested in your business. 3. Try to have lunch from time to time with old friends. This can provide you several benefits: • This is your chance to catch up with them without taking a lot of their time. • They might know someone who will be interested in your business. • This can be the best way to stay in front of them and eventually get referrals. 4. Join non-work related groups or organization. It can be a church or charitable group. This will help you find more customers and get referred to people who they know might be interested in your business. This is also a great way to create a balance between work and personal life so you can open new channels that will be beneficial to your business. In whatever you do, it is important that you have your business cards with you all the time. It's best if you can create business card samples first to find out which of your cards will work out for your business.
