Making an Opt In List Work for YouSubmitted by Phill Hopkins Mon, 7 Jan 2008
Getting the attention of people to buy your product is challenging to say the least.
There were times in the past when telemarketing was seen as more of a nuisance rather a convenience to people, in fact I'd say this still holds true now, I hate it anyway. The same goes for sales people who would go houseto house and show a product and were simply turned down flat. Now as people have embraced the digital age, there is a faster way of doing it and that is through responsive opt in email lists. This is basically creating a mailing list and sending information to people which willultimately lead to increased sales. You can do it in the office or at home, even on a beach. This just has to bedone if you are serious about making money online. It works just as well for people who are in a full time business or for those who just want some extra cash and do it part time. Here are some benefits of making use of a responsive opt in email list; 1. With a click of the mouse, the product pitch that you want to present toyour prospect can get to them in lightning speed. Time and again surveys have shown that the average person will buy a product only after being exposed to the ad or the message after 7 times. By establishing your opt in email list, you no longer have to spend all your time searching for new customers, but you can rely on your existing customer base to further spread the word and increase your sales. 2. Some people will not immediately buy the product that is being offered but by keeping their name in the mailing list and making repeated contact with them, it is more likely that when a product of interest is on hand, the person will then buy. Remember the 7 times above. 3. If you have a new site to launch, your Opt In List can be used to bring in additional revenue as these people already know you and will very likely support your new site. 4. Your list can be used to attract advertising revenue, although I wouldn't recommend doing too much of this as it can seem "spammy" to people. Selling "space" in your emailings can work sometimes though. 5. It is certainly worth exploring Joint Ventures and utilising your list, if you can find a company or product which compliments yours, then you can cross mail each others lists. 6. Sale Time! Got stock which is annoying you by still being there ? Well, mail your list with your Special Offers, make sure they pass the email on to friends, colleagues and family. 7. Give an incentive for joining your list, maybe a one-off coupon ? This can also have a viral effect as they will tell family and friends who will have to sign up to get your coupon.
