Online phases to establish business presence in Japan

Japan is a land of opportunities. The size of its economy is quite big. To target Japanese markets for business generation, the business owners should be in position to relate themselves with local residents. However, business promotion is not a one-time exercise. To set up your business in Japan or for that matter any country where language is a barrier, it is better to understand the market as you grow along with youth business. To understand the pulse of a foreign market it is always advisable to explore the market gradually so that you learn while you grow along with the idea. Establishing presence in a new market needs careful planning and well laid out plan. Success cannot be achieved overnight. Organizations have to work their way in order to achieve results. To establish online presence the total tasks can be cut out in following stages.

  • Local Language: Website may be designed in local Japanese language to present the offerings. This would be first step in relating with the people. Through this approach, the acceptance of products or services will be higher.


  • Product catalogue or services brochures: Product range and services being offered are planned and displayed on the website in such a way so that navigation through the site is smooth and language used is strictly Japanese. English as a spoken language does not find many takers in Japan.


  • Offloading miscellaneous jobs: When you set out to launch your venture in Japan, you will neither be familiar with the local dialects nor the local language. Therefore, it would be appropriate to hire the services of an associate so that all communication and correspondence work is gets done through him. Different tasks may also be broken down and offloaded. This would also help one in saving time and energies.



  • Testing the waters: whenever an organization decides to go in for formal launch of a product in Japan, efforts should be to enter in to the Japanese market though e-commerce. By employing this route, the organization would have gauged the response and accordingly re designed their strategies. This would also help in limiting the initial burden on the organization.




  • Online marketing and networking: Full blown online marketing and establishment of networks may help organization initially to cut down on costs. But this exercise needs thorough preparation so that glitches are avoided.



These are some of the well defined stages. It may not be necessary to follow each stage in verbatim. There can be a few offerings which can be launched by skipping one or two steps. The ultimate objective of breaking down the total task in to small –small sub tasks is to ensure that one learn though the launch process as one moves gradually forwards. The initiation in countries like Japan or china, where language is a barrier needs to be gradual so that the learning is absorbed and reviewed as one move upward on the learning curve. The online phases to establish business presence in Japan is forever-changing so now are the time to learn more about your opportunities.
