Postcard Printing and Colors: Make a Splash with Colorful Prints

Submitted by owenskie

It has been proven, through time that full colored postcards are more appealing to the market than usual ones. That’s why printing companies have invested on full color technology and high quality printers that uses CMYK process printing.

CMYK or four color process printing gives prints a more dynamic and lively hue. Colors become second skin to paper, thus, creating high resolution prints. The emergence of more vibrant and textured colors became a cornucopia for designers and consumers alike.

Four color process printing has been steadily put into good use by commercial printing companies. Colors become more lustrous in a wide variety of prints, such as postcards, posters, business cards and the like.

And with postcards gaining popularity in this slowly becoming borderless world, they are more in demand than ever. Nothing is perhaps better to answer this demand with than with a supply of high quality postcards.

Just recently too, postcards have been increasingly used for promotional purposes. This added to a greater demand on eye-catching, full color postcards.

Businessmen know that the best way to get client’s attention is to use colors effectively. By creating visually enticing and sometimes, even appetizing colors, clients and readers can get a more in-depth feel and fascination towards the product.

However, there still lies the problem in capturing the true colors that we truly want in pinpoint precision. For even in four color process printing in postcards, we still can’t get the same hue of blue that we want.

Aside from four color process printing, postcards can also be printed using spot coloring. Through this, we can get the ideal color that you want. You can retain that signature color your company logo or brand is known for.

Through the Pantone Matching System, pre-blended inks can be bought to suit the colors you want. These pre-blended inks are categorized into numbers that correspond to a particular shade of color.

The color swatches are very comprehensive. The gradual change of one color hue can encompass a wide number of colors in the process.

Although printing companies do their best to maintain the integrity of your colors through four color process printing and match your colors on your prints as closely as possible through spot coloring, there are still loads of work to be done.

1) You have be check that your prints or design are in CMYK mode and not in RGB.

2) Choose colors that complement each other well. For no matter how vibrant a color is, it still can be overshadowed when placed against other colors. Certain colors pale in comparison to other colors.

3) There are some colors which are said to produce certain effects. It might do you well to take advantage of them. Colors such as orange tend to excite the appetite; green brings a soothing effect; while red invokes warmth and activity.

4) It still helps to be cautious for certain colors also have cultural meanings embedded in them in this culturally diverse environment.

5) Hard copy proof is an indispensable tool in checking the colors of your prints before it is printed. If you’re ordering a huge volume of postcards, it would do well to get a hard copy proof.

Printing postcards especially for promotional needs can involve great rewards and risks as well. Nevertheless, full-colored postcard is always a great idea. Experiment with colors and discover what a splash of color can do for your prints.

Also, choose the only professional for your postcard printing projects. Rest assured that your prints will come out rich and intense that other postcards might pale in comparison.
