Promoting Community Youth-Oriented Programs and ActivitiesSubmitted by monica@uprinting.com Fri, 10 Jul 2009
Youth-oriented campaigns and programs are established all over the world in various communities. Youth-oriented programs involve a group of volunteers that facilitate activities that empower the youth and provide support for their physical, emotional, spiritual and mental development and achievement. Youth-oriented programs also provide both one-on-one and peer counseling. Youth-oriented programs provide a wholesome, healthy and secure social environment. Below are examples of well-established youth-oriented programs and campaigns.
Education for Homeless Children and Youth of GovBenefits.gov- The Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program ensures that homeless children and youth have equal access to public education. It also provides services to ensure that these children enroll and graduate from the school program. The program is designed to establish or designate an office in each state educational agency (SEA) for the coordination of education for homeless children and youth as well as to develop and implement programs for school personnel to heighten awareness of specific problems for homeless children and youth. Health Information Project-The Health Information Provider is a community-based prevention provider and is funded by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Service (OASAS) to provide consumer-health and substance-abuse prevention materials through the 70 member public libraries in the five counties served by the Mid-Hudson Library System. Project materials are available in print, video, and electronic format and cover a broad range of issues of concern to youth ages 20 and under , their families, educators, and agencies. The Teen Intern Program benefits participants personally by gaining knowledge about substance abuse and basic life skills. Promoting for youth-oriented activities may prove to be a challenging task for organizers given a limited marketing budget and allocated resources. When resources are limited, the use of simple and affordable print promotional materials can be just as effective. Researching for affordable printers can be done online through web directories, search engines, printing blogs, and even popular social networking sites. Online printing companies like Uprinting, for example, maintains several printing and design blogs like youthedesigner.com and has a page on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.
